Again I will only be analysing up to 2:11 for the opening of this film.
Editing
The editing in this media text is a bit faster than Cyberbully, this could be because it starts from the perspective of the bullies and not the bullied so the faster editing represents their content life.
Sound
Sound that stands out to be here is "I wore that skirt when I was 6." because it shows the nasty natures of the 3 bullies and how rude they are about other people. This sound is crucial to the narrative of the opening because it shows bullying straight away, establishing the antagonists of the film. The sound of the school bell tells the audience at the beginning of the piece that the film setting is a high school, a common place for bullying to occur.
Character
This opening shows clearly who the bullies are and who the victims are, this gives the audience a lot of information within the first 2 minutes of the film, showing relationships between all the girls, and making it clear to the audience who is who.
Mise-en-scene
The Mise-en-scene of the film shows the location of a high school because of the clothes that the characters are wearing. As well as this the props like rucksacks and school books connote a sense of youth and education which can only be associated with high school.
I am mainly analysing the content of the film rather than the titles and camera angles because I know that the genre in question can adapt to different types of titles and the main use of camera angles are to show vulnerabilities within different characters. The next thing that needs to be included in our own film is the content like Mise-en-scene, sounds and editing techniques, along with character profiles which will make our own film believable as a Coming-of-age Drama relatable to teenage audiences. Some of the things I have picked up from my last two analysis's is the props such as mobile phones and computer and their importance to creating a film about cyberbullying. Also, necessary clothing is required to truly convey the portrayal of a high school cyberbullying situation.
