The logo shortly became animated with a catchy theme tune which would identify with millions of people all over the world.
Another example would be the Metro Goldwyn Mayer logo featuring a real-life lion roaring to give oomph and a new dynamic to institutional logos.
I believe an institutional logo is a statement and the statement for MGM is a lion. Lions being the king of the jungle is a metaphor for MGM aspiring to be the most successful film production company in the world. These are examples of mainstream film logos of which the creating companies can afford to spend millions of pounds/ dollars using special effects and animation to create the perfect logo. As an independent company we can afford such luxuries so I will now look into more afford, independent logos.
This video shows all 3 independent film logos of Film 4 Productions, UK Film Council and EM Media. Film4 being the most wealthy obviously has the most creative and expensive looking logo however the other 2 are lacking. Just like the all of these institutional logos I want Peacock Productions to have a logo which is relevant to our production company name. We are going to incorporate a peacock into the title sequence so it is understandable for our audience and creative enough to be better than EM Media's institutional logo.
